For close to 100 years, LYDIA Home Association has been making a difference in the lives of Chicago children and families who are dealing with everything from homelessness and poverty to abuse and neglect. LYDIA has a residential treatment center that’s home to 40 kids, plus non-traditional high schools, foster care program and much more. These kids are dealing with a lot, but they know one thing for sure: at LYDIA, they are loved. Join us to make an impact!

You can impact the lives of children and families with you get involved at LYDIA in Rockford. Become a volunteer, financial partner or donate items from our wish list.

Become a Business Partner Through the LYDIA Urban Academy Work Study Program. Partnering with LYDIA Urban Academy provides a business with one or two entry-level workers without the hassles of payroll and taxes: LYDIA covers the insurance for the student as well as the payroll taxes and deductions. In addition, each student worker is assigned a faculty-advocate job coach to assist the on-site supervisor. The program is a WIN for the business (supervised entry-level workers), a WIN for the student (experience and financially contributing to the cost of their private school education), and a WIN for LYDIA Academy (providing up to one-third of the student's educational cost).
