Volunteers multiply the effectiveness of our ministry in many ways. Whether God has equipped you with gifts of hospitality or administration, handyman skills or medical expertise, we can match you with a volunteer area that fits your talents, interests and availability. Volunteer opportunities at LYDIA include:
  • Praying regularly for LYDIA’s clients and staff
  • Teaching a subject or life skill at LYDIA Urban Academy
  • Serving as a Safe Family (providing short-term housing for children in need)
  • Providing handyman help for various work projects
  • Providing administrative and clerical support
  • Providing professional services (medical, legal, psychological, etc.)
  • Helping with fundraising events
  • Planning a weekend activity or outing
  • Serving as a liaison between LYDIA and my church
  • Employing an Urban Academy student through our work study program
